Flood Damage in Newport Basement Ruins Carpet and Furniture
Groundwater entered this Newport basement and left a large amount of flood damage behind. SERVPRO techs arrived to find a soggy carpet, water wicked into the sheetrock for several inches and watermarks showing the low-seated couch and loveseat took on a large amount of the water. The techs moved the table, ottoman, and treadmill out of the loss area for cleaning and restoration services. The furniture, a large portion of the sheetrock, and wainscotting required removal as a loss. They took out the carpet so the slab floor underneath could get dried. The After Photo shows the extensive cleanup needed so the basement can get restored and reused.
